Sometimes, we can discretely buy in bulk by negotiating for bulk price, then politely asking for a percentage of it, say; 50% or 25%. You can negotiate for a full carton or a dozen of a product, then politely ask if you can get half of the carton or half a dozen of that product for half price or even a quarter of a carton or of a dozen respectively. Usually, traders reluctantly or willingly accept this kind of whole sale buying especially in local markets, though some may add little to the selling price which is still usually fair price compared to retail purchases, though, few whole sellers may frown at this, especially when requesting for less than 50% of the bulk.

Another secrete to buying in bulk is to seek for a purchasing partner to share the product and price with. Getting a purchasing partner may not be that difficult as there may be one right in front of the store (stall). It’s just a matter of asking.

Finally, though bulk or wholesale purchase are usually cheaper, we may need to have a rethink about buying certain products in bulk, such as perishables or other products that we seldom use, in order to avoid wasting the excesses, except when we have a better option of doing away with the excesses such as sharing with our loved ones and neighbours which is of course a good option.

It’s really important not to underestimate the advantage of bulk purchase as a means to boost our economy.
